Millipedes mass-invade after rain, seeking moisture. They enter through gaps and are attracted to mulch and damp soil. We apply barrier treatment at the perimeter and advise on drainage and sealing so invasions stop.
Millipedes are long, segmented, many-legged arthropods. They are dark brown or black, curl when disturbed, and move in large numbers after rain. They do not bite but can release a mild irritant. Look for them along skirting boards, near doors, or in damp basements.
Millipedes live in damp soil, mulch, and leaf litter. Rain or overwatering triggers mass migrations toward shelter. They enter through gaps under doors, around pipes, and through foundations. Mulch or compost against the house increases moisture and attraction.
Millipedes do not bite or transmit disease. They can release a mild defensive secretion. Mass invasions are a nuisance and can stain surfaces. They indicate high moisture; fixing drainage and reducing mulch improves the property.
Verminator applies barrier treatment at the perimeter (foundations, doors) to stop millipedes at the boundary. We advise on sealing gaps, reducing mulch near the house, and improving drainage. Follow-up may be needed after heavy rain.
