Rats and mice are common pests that spread disease and damage property. Professional rodent control uses integrated methods: exclusion, trapping, and baiting. Verminator offers humane, effective solutions across South Africa.
Rats are larger (body 20–25 cm) with long tails; mice are smaller (7–10 cm) with proportionally long tails. Look for droppings, gnaw marks, grease marks along walls, and nesting material. Rats and mice are nocturnal but may be seen during the day in heavy infestations.
Rodents seek food, water, and shelter. They enter through gaps as small as a pencil, attracted by unsealed food, pet food, and water sources. Clutter and overgrown vegetation provide hiding places. Seasonal changes can drive them indoors.
Rodents spread diseases (leptospirosis, hantavirus, salmonella), contaminate food, and trigger allergies. They gnaw wiring (fire risk), insulation, and structural elements. Droppings and urine cause odour and health hazards.
Verminator uses Integrated Pest Management: inspection to identify entry points and activity, exclusion (sealing gaps), trapping and baiting where appropriate, and follow-up to ensure long-term control. We prioritise humane methods and safety.
