Flies are common pests that spread disease and contaminate food. House flies, fruit flies, and blowflies are prevalent in South Africa. Professional control targets breeding sites and adults.
House flies are grey, 6–7 mm, with four dark stripes. Fruit flies are small, tan, with red eyes. Blowflies are metallic blue or green. Look for larvae (maggots) in organic matter, or adults near food and waste.
Flies are attracted to food, waste, and moisture. Open bins, uncovered food, and organic debris provide breeding sites. Poor sanitation and warm weather increase fly activity.
Flies spread pathogens (salmonella, E. coli) by contaminating food. They can trigger allergies. In food businesses, flies cause compliance issues and reputational damage.
Verminator identifies and eliminates breeding sites, applies targeted treatments, and advises on sanitation and exclusion. For businesses, we offer ongoing fly control plans.
